Back in the saddle

After days missed due to man-flu and creating this website, I'm back in the training saddle. It's been a great week, and I'm happy to be progressing the training again.

This weeks highlights included some multi-part greenscreen keying, camera projection, and pushing on through to complete a 50 hour course on rendering.

The camera projection, shown above, seems a particularly powerful technique for generating background environments, subject to a few caveats around shot angle, distance, etc.

The rendering course finished off with some in-depth material on lightwave dependent subsurface scattering, as shown below. Not sure when I'll next get to make use of this but it's good to know as background information.
