It was rigged!

This week, as suggested by the title, I’ve been doing some rigging in Maya along with walk cycles and hard surface modelling.

Cineware
I started off the week continuing to explore the integration between Cinema 4D and After Effects. I have mixed feelings about this: on the one hand the workflow is powerful, but on the other the performance seems limited. However, I am continuing to find the Cinema 4D modifier stack/hierarchy very intuitive to work with, which is an area where Maya feels quite weak.

3D in Photoshop
I took a detour mid-week and delved further into the 3D capabilities of Photoshop. The results are very impressive, and it features a full IBL capability. The render times are very slow when compared to a full 3D application like Maya. But then that is arguably an apples and pears comparison.
